Listings come from two sources: private owners selling one thing, and dealers and traders posting regularly. The difference matters to you as a buyer: a private owner knows the history of what they're selling in detail and can tell you why they're selling it, while a dealer offers wider choice but usually doesn't know each item's history to the same depth.
Neither is better — your questions simply differ. From an owner you ask about history, use and the reason for selling; from a dealer you ask where the item came from, what they know of its condition, and whether they'll accept an independent inspection.
